Meru teaching fraternity has been thrown into mourning following the death of one of its principals who was the head of a well performing day mixed secondary school located in Imenti South Constituency.
Mourning the death of Karoe Mixed Day secondary school principal, Mr.George Gitobu Arithi, Imenti South Member of Parliament Hon. Kathuri Murungi described the late Arithi as one of the greatest and focused principals is constituency as ever had.
He further described him as a hardworking principal who has left an incredible mark at the institution and the surrounding community.
It is not yet clear what caused the death of the principal but according to family members, Mr. Arithi passed last night after short illness.
Former and current students from Karoe day who have passed under his leadership have described him as a loving father who wanted the very best for his students.
Flocking the social media with their condolences messages, they termed him as a man who has mentored and inspired many and instilled discipline to many generations.
Eastern Region Red Cross Society head Gitonga Mugambi sent message of condolence to the family saying,
"My heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr Gitobu, we can not question God but indeed Mr Gitobu was a great man, RIP hero."
