"It Is Not Easy" High School Teacher With Sickle Cell Anaemia Says While Narrating Her Story

A high school teacher in Ghana narrates her story of how she has battled sickle cell anaemia for nearly all her life.

Ama Nyarko Attafuah Quainoo, the teacher at Kumasi Senior High Technical School, says that she has been teaching at the school with the condition for 24 years now.

According to the teacher, she admits that living with the disease is not easy but she doesn't regret anything. Her greatest strength is her husband whom she has been married to for the las 17 years. Her husband describes her as a strong woman from her achievements at the age of 49.

From her experience in battling the disease, she said that she has gained knowledge which has made her assist her students and other people with the same disease.

Nyarko has continued to urge her fellow patients not to give up when battling sickle cell anaemia.
