The schools are already closed. The parents are struggling to ensure that their children return back to schools next week.At the moment, the parents have made frantic efforts to look for school fees before schools are opened. This is to avoid their children facing the wrath of some Principals who have kept on sending students home despite Government's warnings.
It was a bizzare incident at Rongo town at Kanyawanga High school junction.A form 4 student together with a tractor driver were left nursing injuries after a trailor was suddenly cut off from the tractor.Unfortunately, the tractor driver John Owino was navigating a corner to get to the busy Kisii Migori highway. The student who was on a bodaboda behind the trailer had to jump off the bike to avoid the trailer landing on him.He however landed on the side of the road as the trailer moved backwards.
The boy from Nyakuru Mixed secondary school was lucky to be alone on the motorcycle. The tractor was carrying bricks from the common Matafare area near Rakwaro to another site.
On the other side, the tractor driver jumped from his seat and landed on the road leaving him bleeding profusely. They we're all rushed to a nearby Rongo Sub county hospital. This comes at a time when the parents are being urged to take care of their children at home to avoid such incidences.
