There is an anxiety in Egerton University as the management issued a notice informing them that there is a meeting to speak about impending staff redundancy.
The notice, according to the source, was sent by the senior assistant registrar in the Human Capital and Administration Department who has been identified as Maureen Ngala.
According to the source the notice of the meeting that was dates 28th February 2023 is the second notice after the other one was issued last year December 21st.
The notice comes at a time when the university is at it's worst crisis where is is currently struggling with a wage bill of more than ksh 200 million.
The source has reported that is losing approximately 100 workers per year on retirement, resignation and other natural attrition.
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m. in the Njoro Campus Auditorium, and all staff are required to attend.
