"It Hasn't Been Easy, I have Been Jobless Since Covid-19 Came," Father to Top KCPE Candidate Speaks

Faith Mumo could have emerged the top candidate in the just released KCPE exams but behind the scenes, the family has undergone a tough period following the outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic.

Her Father Paul Mumo, who spoke to Citizen TV on phone, has opened up on difficult moments his family had to endure after the pandemic struck the country.

An accountant by Profession, Mumo has struggled to provide for the need of his family, and specifically that of his daughter who beat odds to emerge the top, after being rendered Jobless Since amrch last year.

The first case of Covid-19 was recorded in March last year leading to lockdown and curfew being imposed countrywide.

The move led to massive loss of jobs and Mumo's father was among the affected leading to his family migration from Nairobi to their rural home in Kagundo.

"It was not that easy. First of all, I am an accountant by Profession and I can tell you from March 2020 I have never worked anywhere. Paying School fees has not been easy. We have been working hard to ensure she does what needs to be done," he told Citizen TV.

Regardless of all, the success of his daughter has wiped tears of the struggle they endured to see her access basic education and other necessities.

Mumo describes his daughter as;" very prayerful girl, Very confident and very hardworking."
