This course involves taking care of the sick and also treating minor diseases. In Kenya,its offered in many universities but you can consider going to the Kenya Medical Training Colleges(KMTC) because its cheaper in terms of fees.The fee per academic year is Ksh 80,700 in KMTC and training goes for three and a half years.
With a diploma in nursing you can be employed by the government immediately after study to help in the promotion of Universal Health Care(UHC).And also,being government's employee,you enjoy the benefits of pension after retirement and also enjoy working in different parts of the country.
Also as a graduate of nursing and with license from the NCK,you can opt to start your own clinic and offer services of health in it as self employed. You can still opt to go abroad in the countries like UK and USA to work as nursing is a recognized course in the world and the curriculum is the same.
