Technical University of Mombasa lecturers has suspended learning for unknown period of time as they demand for immediate response on their welfare from the union.
This comes after the Universities and Academics Staff Union issued postponement of the lecturers strike which was scheduled on Monday, August 30. The UASU Secretary General Constantine Wesonga had requested for dialogue inorder to end their demands.
However, it has been established that their discussion was not fruitful since the lecturers haven't received their money. At the center of the stalemate is the full implementation of the Sh8.8 billion that was to benefit 30,000 members of Uasu, Kenya University Staff Union (KUSU) and Kenya Union of Domestic, Hotels, Educational Institutions, Hospital and Allied Workers.
The Technical University of Mombasa has issued stand firm demanding on their pay inorder to commence studies. The protest started on Monday, 27 September at around 10.00a.m. Learning has been affected especially for first year students have are still joining the campus.
