Tragedy in Elgeyo Marakwet.
Learning at St Benedict Arror Secondary School has been disrupted.
According to reports; gunshots have been fired, some meters from the school's compound as students were taking their meals.
According to the school principal, Lucy Okumu: gunshots have been heard, about 200m from the school compound.
As a result, students have been forced to take cover under dining tables in scare of their lives.
On the other side, some villagers have rushed their livestock to the school compound where they think it's much safer.
Note; other Students from neighbouring schools have also flocked in the school’s compound to seek shelter from the gunshots that has already lasted for about 20 to 30minutes.
In conclusion, the school principal has stated that their students are traumatized by the ongoing insecurity issues.
Otherwise: Yesterday one person was shot dead near Tort Sub-county hospital by the suspected cattle raiders.
So far, about 62 people have been killed by the bandits.
