Faith Wairimu Gitau Nyandarua county Women Representative is rolling out a counselling program for young mothers in both primary and secondary schools across the county.

She noted, the need of having morally supported teenage mothers,she also added that some of these girls may suffer stigmatization and abuse from fellow learners hence the need for counselling.
The Member of Parliament who was speaking on Thursday while issuing bursary funds to less fortunate children in the county.She also emphasized the need to have the parents of young mothers counseled so as to offer condusive environment for them at home.
Last year Nyandarua county witnessed runaway pregnancies with over 800 school girls having fallen victims after the schools were closed for long time due to covid 19 outbreak.

Meanwhile, students who benefited from the bursaries said it would help relieving pressure from their parents and guardians and also keep them in school.
