After holding a meeting with th stake holders, the ministry of education through the cabinet secretary George Magoha has come to an agreement that there will be no school fees increment in the higher learning institutions.
The PS for University education Simeon Nabukwesi reported that there is no plan of increasing the school fees until next year. He also had to refute the fact that done universities including University of Nairobi had increased their fees.
The PS who happens to be a former principal at the Friends Kamusinga High school stated that whatever was going on in the University of Nairobi was internal server nice no case of increasing if fees had been put across the board.
Nabukwesi stated that all the plans to increase the fees had been suspended adding that the issue of increasing fee will be discussed with all the affected parties involved including the parents.
This came after three students leaders from the University of Nairobi had been arrested by the police for having organized a strike.
This was after the Institution had increased fee payment for those taking degree courses including commerce, economics and law to upto Ksh 1 million for four years.
