A boy who lost his mother a few days to the exams, defied odds to score amazing marks in the recently concluded Kenya Certificate of Primary Education, KCPE. The boy, who had to do exams while mourning his mother scored 405 marks out of a possible 500. This is something that many could have only dreamt of achieving under such conditions.
This is an extraordinary case as many wouldn't perform excellently under such conditions. This boy however, shows that despite anything, you can achieve anything you set your mind to.
Losing a mother is a traumatizing experience for any child and this means that this boy could have done much better. If given the right conditions, the boy could have performed better than this.
405 marks is a remarkable achievement considering this year, there were fewer kids who scored 400 marks and above. We wish this brave boy the best that life has to offer in his future endeavors.
