Students of Multimedia University of Kenya earlier today went for a demonstration after they received a memo telling all the students to vacate from school as soon as possible, not later than 6:00pm today.
The police had to come through and disperse the students using tear gas as they were all over Magadi road. This was after the lectures and staff went for a strike three days ago claiming for their allowances to be added. They had to do this as their grievances were not met.
The students claim they will be very disadvantaged as some are yet to finish their final years of study. Also for those who are doing their exams they had to stop and don't know when they will continue with them. They are also stranded as whether the online classes will continue or not.
This will also be a very big disadantage to the first year students as they are still new to the school environment and they were trying to catch up with the system.
