Today morning, the body of a female student was discovered at a place called Jua Kali, Kefinco. The female student identified as Macrine was doing her Bachelor of Education degree in English Literature at the institution.
Following student unrest this afternoon after calls for insecurity at the school, the Senate of the institution has postponed the graduation ceremony. The 16th graduation ceremony was scheduled for the 11th of June but has now been postponed to a date which will be communicated.
The University has cited unavoidable circumstances as one of the reasons why they have postponed the Graduation. They have however said that the graduation ceremony preparations are ongoing. Students who are also doing clearance should proceed as planned.
The students complained of insecurity in the institution especially Kefinco area which has now seen the demise of two students. The student found today was assaulted before she was killed and her body dumped there.
