The Teachers Service Commission through its Chief Executive Officer Dr. Nancy Macharia has confirmed the submission of about 5000 files of retired teachers to the National Treasury for payment.
Retired teachers for a long time has lamented to the government demanding their pension following their services they rendered to the government. Through their Union, the retired teachers have filed several petitions through the Teachers Service Commission seeking their intervention to facilitate their payment.
The commission through their social media responded positively to the former civil servants. The commission has however cautioned the retired teachers not to fall into trap of fraudsters who demand cash with fake promises of speeding up the payment since the commission has streamlined the payment process.
However the commission through the CEO has also advised the teachers who wish to change their bank accounts from their previous bank accounts are free to do so much earlier to avoid unnecessary delays.
