All learners in primary and secondary schools are currently in the first term mid term for the year 2021. The short holiday is likely to end as from 30th August, 2021. Learners are expected to go back to Schools for their final first term race.
The government of Kenya offers free education to all. That is why it encourages 100% transition of learners from primary to secondary School. The year 2021 recorded an increased number of students who reported in form one unlike the previous years.
Hundred percent transition of learners from primary to secondary schools however faced challenges as some parents repelled taking their children to secondary schools claiming that they lacked funds.
The ministry of education directed chiefs to search Students who didn't join form one and ensure that they report to schools. The government is continuing with country form one mop up, therefore the permanent secretary Julius Jwan requested parents to support the move. In addition, the PS Jwan speaking from Narok said that the ministry of education is likely to conduct audit of examination perfomance of schools at county levels. Therefore, Teachers working at schools at county levels are asked to work hard to get by better results.
