The Pain of Covid-19 to Parents as Universities Set to Have a Fixed Scheduled Tri-Semester

The pain of covid-19 pendamic continues to affects most people across the country as most people are left without jobs after most factories and industries were closed and introduction of curfew hours and lockdown in the country.

According to the ministry of Education, all universities and colleges that failed to have online learning during covid-19 pendamic are now advised to have Tri-Semester that will run up to next year April. Here is a look of Rongo University Almanac for 2021/2022 academic year

This is a major challenge to most parents especially those from poor background as raising fees and upkeeps for three semesters will be very difficult considering Higher Education Loan Board (HELB) tends to reduce amount of money allocated per student. On other side, frees will be increased basing on 2021/2022 budget that was read by CS Yatani.

I think universities should reduce the fees and HELB loans should allocates money to all students. This will help parents atleast to sustain their children to university.

Do you think the act of universities to have a Tri-Semester will favours all students? And what do you think the Universities should have done to favour all parents? Drop your opinion in comment section
