Polytechnics Should Offer Market Driven Courses-Speaker Nyandarua County

Nyandarua Acting Speaker, Hon. Zachary Njeru wants the County Government to ensure that polytechnics across the County are improved and equipped to offer market driven courses for the benefit of the youth.

In a statement sought from Education, Culture and Arts Committee on his behalf by Rurii Ward MCA, Hon. Muraya Githaiga, the acting Speaker wants to be furnished with Information on the status of all youth polytechnics in the County.

“I want to know the structural facilities, equipment, number of students, number of teaching and non-teaching staff engaged and courses offered per polytechnic,” Hon. Muraya said.

He also wants the Committee to investigate the status of Mukeu Youth Polytechnic and the plans in place to ensure that the residents of Nyakio benefit from the institution.

Weighing in on the matter, County Member from Rurii, Hon. Geoffrey Ngaruiya urged the youth to join the polytechnics saying the Country has inadequate personnel with technical skills.

"I argue our youths to join the polytechnics across the county in order to fill the gap of unskilled market that we have today in our county" Hon. Geoffrey Ngaruiya said
