The government is doing the best it could to ensure that the opening of the schools become a reality. This is due to the drastic measures that it has continued to take in the recent past. The taskforce's report that was handed over to the education CS Professor George Magoha has reignited the debate with speculations rife on October re-opening.
The teachers will be expected to have a hard and delicate balance to ensure the safety of the learners on daily basis.Knut Secretary General Mr Wilson Sossion has shown the support to the government by saying that the teachers are fully prepared and will monitor the learners' masks and safety throughout.
Preparations are on by teachers at least to appear in schools by Monday to begin their roles as mandated by their employer. As reported yesterday by the Daily nation newspaper, the teachers are expected to undergo some crash training programs just before the schools open. The trainings will start from the high levels down to the counties and finally to the school levels.
In the school levels, the following groups will be the first to be trained as exclusively reported by the newspaper before extending the trainings to all the other staffs:
3-Health and Sanitation teacher.
4-One member of surbodinate staff.
5-One School board representative.
6-The PTA representative.
A section of the yesterday's Daily Nation Newspaper.
All the above are to be first trained because they will directly be in contact with the learners at all times within the school set-up.
