The schools are expected to be opened next week after a one week break. The parents are in a rush to buy essential commodities for their children before they return to schools. It is however unfortunate that some students may not open schools as fees is hard to come by from their parents or sponsors.Fortunately, the Government wants all the students back in schools sound and safe.
It is a double blessing for the students and the teachers besides the parents in the Government's new updates. The students may not be sent home immediately schools open. The head teachers who had signalled tough times in schools due to lack of capitation fees can now smile after the Government releasing over ksh 17 billion for both primary and secondary schools.
On the other hand, the teachers have been crying of lack of enough facilities that will host the Junior secondary schools. The ministry of Education has announced that over 20,000 new classrooms that will host the grade seven students will be built by April next year. These are in deed good news to the teachers and students.
