Hard Times Ahead For Moi University After Being Declared Bankrupt

Moi university students and more so, staff should brace for hard economic times in the near future. As per the condition now, the institution is going through a tough state of financial issue. This comes after the government auditor general declared the university as bankrupt or insolvent after completion of an audit process if the institution's finances.

According to reports from the auditor general, Moi university is currently facing large debts amounting to about 4.5 billions Kenyan shillings. According to the auditor general, the institution of higher learning can hardly manage to pay off its debtors at the current moment. In the past, the institution came under lime light after it was accused of practicing high levels of nepotism. This was following revelations that most departments within it was headed by members from the same community. The current Vice Chancellor of Moi university is Professor Isaac Kosgey as the institution remains to be among the prestigious ones in Kenya.
