Confusion As KCSE Candidate Goes Blind Suddenly Minutes Before Sitting For Exam

Wayaga Secondary School in Ndhiwa sub County, Homabay was yesterday in shock after one of their own went blind minutes before sitting for the CRE KCSE paper. The student had been complaining of eye problems for the better part of Sunday evening, a problem that got worse on Monday morning when she was supposed to sit for her CRE paper.

According to Nation, she allegedly became blind minutes before the exam and complained to the invigilators that she could not see. This forced the County Education Director of Homabay county Fredrick Kiiru to inform KNEC of the strange incident. KNEC replied by saying that the student should be assisted to write the rest of her exams after a doctor examined her and established that indeed the student could not see.

The Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, KCSE exams are on going all over the country for the first time in April after learning was disrupted by the coronavirus containment measures. KCPE results are also set to be released within two weeks by the education cabinet secretary.
