It is the sole role of Teachers Service Commission (TSC) to improve the quality of teachers who joins its workforce by putting in place relevant requirements for registration of teachers. Therefore, candidates who apply to be registered by the commission whose training are not in the curriculum do not qualify regardless of them having undertaken a Post Graduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) and Enhancement.
PGDE can be admitted where one does not have pedagogical skills only. However, it is rejected when enough subject and mastery of contents lacks in the required two teaching subjects.
Among the BSC and BA Courses that have been proven to be below the TSC minimum requirements are Horticulture, Anthropology, Theology, Journalism, Business Management, Criminology, Microbiology and Biochemistry.
Other trainings that do not qualify for obtaining TSC number and employment are Bridging, Diploma or Degree without prerequisite entry requirements and certificates that do not have security marks.
