According to information reaching my desk and also shared by Radio Presenter, Billy Miya, University of Nairobi has increased the accommodation fees by up to seven times per semester.
This new arrangement will see students in single rooms that is mostly occupied by students in their third years and final years pay 21,525 per semester. This a sharp increase from the initial payment of 3150 shillings.
The Reports further indicates that those students in the shared rooms will have to part with 15,120 down from 2730 shillings.
The report further reveals that first year students,reporting today Monday will be forced to dig deeper into their pockets as they will have to part with 19,635 shillings for a room shared by two students up from the initial payment of 2835 shillings.
The sharp increase in the accommodation fees has left Kenyans talking.
