A Lobby Group Wants Boarding Abolished

The change in education system from 8.4.4 to CBC which is underway. With this change, the junior secondary schools are set to receive young learners at a little bit tender age who may not to do everything on their own. Therefore, a lobby group is pushing for the government to abolish boarding in Junior Secondary schools.The idea is in conjunction with the government long term proposal to do away with boarding in learning institutions. This is in order to create equity in learning institutions of basic education, so that there is no issues like big and small schools. This has worked in primary sector where there are no national schools, extra county or such like grouping, that disadvantages children attending the institutions near their villages for lack fees.

Furthermore, abolishing boarding schools will easy the burden of cost of education on parents who struggle to pay high fees charged due to boarding amenities.
