Court Nulfies Community Based Learning.

A court has issued an order to stop Education Cabinet Secretary Maghoha from implementing Community Based Learning Program which was launched country wide.

Through Justice James Makau,he certified urgent case filed by a parent- Mr Joseph Aura seeking to stop the roll out of CBL next month.

According to Mr Aura, his children and others in the country have been at home since the state closed down schools indefinitely since March. He wants CS Maghoha compelled to reopen schools on September.

The parent wants children to be taught in classroom rather than virtual or any other methods. He added that the court to compell Health Cabinet Secretary Mr Kagwe to let all play areas and recreational centres across the country reopened too.

"The oppressive psychology and mental torture inflicted on the school going children because of the open ended closure of schools effected by the ministry from March till now has gravely injured them." part of the court's document quated.

Pressure has been mounting for the Ministry of Education to reopen schools though relactantly today CS Maghoha hinted that schools might be reopened but depending on how the covid 19 curve behaves.

Mr Aura also claimed that many countries have got high number of Covid 19 cases but they have reopened schools and Kenya should do the same. Good example is neighboring Tanzania, Japan, Senagal among others.
