Professor Peter Anyang’ Nyong’o is the governor of Kisumu county. At some time back, he taught at the University of Nairobi, El Colegio de Mexico, and Addis Ababa University in Ethiopia. Prof. Nyong'o entered the African Academy of Sciences and was appointed as the Head of Programs from 1987 to 1992.
Having been involved in the fight against the dictatorial rule in our country throughout his education path, Nyong’o was among the leaders who made it into several party politics in 1992.
He was first, voted to the Kenyan Parliament in 1992. He has laboured in various breadths since then. He was given a chance to be the Minister for Planning and National Development between 2003 and 2005 under former President Mwai Kibaki's regime. And from 2008 to 2013 he was appointed as the Minister for Medical Services.
In my viewpoint, our political leaders need to be learned. This will motivate our children.
