The national police service has stepped up it's game to sensitize against the ongoing school fires. The police have set out to train teaches on emergency response.
With past incidences of school fires blamed on students, Nakuru County Police Commander Madam Beatrice Kiraguri has organized a consultative meeting with school principals, education stakeholders and the public to deliberate on mitigation measures in an event to be held on 3rd December, 2021 at Nakuru High School, Nakuru County.
The one day sensitization forum will impart skills such as fire drills, security and safety procedures, first aid, and will offer valuable insights on legal implication and incident reporting.
The program aims at instilling discipline and a sense of responsibility to students in order to mitigate recurrence of school fires. This event will also improve the public image of the officers and promote their corporate social responsibility.
The Nakuru event is one of the many that the police service will host aiming to reduce the cases of school fires
