Revealed: Why Internship Applicants Have Delayed To Be Invited For Interviews

Teachers Service Commission (TSC) is the only commission in Kenya mandated to recruit, promote, discipline and transfer teachers from one working station to another.

The commission which is currently under the leadership of Dr. Nancy Macharia as the serving Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has always worked round the clock to ensure that learning Institutions in Kenya are well equipped with teachers.

In a bid to address teacher shortage challenge, the commission came up with Internship program where unemployed but registered teachers are hired to serve on a contract of 12 months (1 year).

In the recent advertisement, TSC is set to hire teachers who are expected to serve on Internship contract. According to the commission, a total of 1995 teachers are to be hired this October.

However, there has been communication delays to applicants as to when they should attend to the scheduled interviews. According to reliable sources, it is now revealed that the delay has been caused by failure to reach a consensus amongst TSC officials on how the interview will be conducted.

This comes because many applicants who are all suitable have applied for the posts, eliminating them is therefore becoming a challenge.
