The Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) made a major announcement to various categories of students in universities and colleges.
On Tuesday, July 2021, HELB announced that the following four products, which they offer are open and the college and university students who meet the set requirements are free to apply for consideration.
The four products include Undergraduate first time students loans, TVET first time students loans, Undergraduate second and subsequent loans and TVET second and subsequent students loans.
According to the statement issued by the board (HELB), Undergraduate first time loans and TVET first time loans are open for application until 31st December 2021. This should be done strictly thorough the HELB student portal.
For second and subsequent loans, for both Undergraduate and TVET, applicants have until 31st October 2021 to submit their application.
The second and subsequent applications should be done through the HELB App or using the USSD code *642#.
The applicants are urged to read and understand the requirements well before making their applications.
