The president of Kenya Uhuru Kenyatta has today addressed the country as it celebrates it's Labour Day at State House Kenya. Labour Day is always celebrated yearly by workers across the continent as they issue new demands for the employers interms of payment and better working conditions. Its also a time that workers takes to have a look at their hard work and how much their sacrifices have paid so far.

With the already rising cases of Covid 19 deaths in the country and a worrying trend in the new Indian virus variant most parents and teachers have been worried if schools will reopen for their children. They have tasked the ministry of education to give a clear guidelines on how they would help prevent the spread in our institutions. But in the president's speech, Uhuru has declared that all learning institutions be opened as planned in the academic calendar.
He has also called on head of institutions to ensure that all learners report back to school and their lives protected. His statements puts an end to the questions that were being raised by concerned educational activist on school resumption.
