The government promised that it will make sure that it employs teachers so that the deficit that is in schools is filled. For that reason, Teachers Service Commission has revealed the group of teachers that it will prioritize during the January recruitment that seeks to employ thirty thousand teachers in January.
The Teachers commission has said it will prioritise recruitment of Junior Secondary teachers in the January mass recruitment. TSC chief executive officer Nancy Macharia said they were already facing a deficit of 68,000 teachers in secondary schools across the country.
According to Macharia, the training of teachers for CBC had started but when the new government came in, they halted it. She also added that funds are available and the training will now continue to make sure that they are well equipped to handle the learners. It should be noted that the grade six students will join Junior Secondary School but it will be domiciled in Primary section.
