Finally Revealed: Why CUE Revoked Sakaja's Degree For Second Time

The Commission for University Education rejected Senator Johnson Sakaja's degree recognition certificate for the second time on Thursday, putting his governorship bid in jeopardy once more.

CUE had validated the document on June 6, 2022, but reversed its decision after learning that the degeree was not real.

The commission withdrew the letter of revocation on June 22 to allow for further investigation. On Thursday, the commission announced that Sakaja's degree is ineligible for recognition and was therefore revoked.

Ntarangwi stated that the National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) has not accredited Team University to award such a degree by October 21, 2016 - Sakaja's supposed date of graduation.

"Team University is authorized to offer Bachelor of Science in Management, not Bachelor of Science in Management (External)," stated Ntarangwi.

It is also revealed that Bachelor of Science in Management (External) course is not offered in Team University at such time, Sakaja said it started.

"In addition, NCHE stated that Team University had confirmed Sakaja's enrollment in the Bachelor of Science in Management program. Bachelor of Science in Management (External) was not mentioned."

Ntarangwi added that Bachelor of Science in Management (External) violates the naming conventions for college degrees.

According to the 2014 Universities Standards Guidelines, Bachelor of Science in Management (External) is not the same as Bachelor of Science in Management.
