Egerton University Closed As Financial Crisis Deepens

It is now three weeks since the Egerton University Njoro campus lecturers went on strike claiming that the university management has failed to implement their 2017-2021 CBA that was Signed and negotiated in the court. The Administration has been so reluctant to hear the cry of these lecturers.

Vice-Chancellor Isaac Kibwage said there is no money in the University and the money was there they would not wait for the lectures to strike. The students have been in the University for three weeks without being taught think g that maybe the problem will be solved and they would go back to their studies. The Lecturers have been having meetings with University Management Board trying to come to a consensus but all were in vain.

Today 26th November the University released a memo saying that the university has been closed following the lecturer's strike and the students are required to vacate the University by Tuesday 30th November.

The students had to pack and leave the University until when a long- lasting solution will be found
