The salary that secondary school teachers are expected to earn in kenya

Education is a basic need for everyone in today's life it is recognized that when one acquires knowledge he can be able to manage his/her things correctly. Secondary education is the second step a person makes after attaining primary education. The salary of a secondary teacher ranges from sh.45,000 to sh.195,000 per month. Those teachers working in hardship areas are paid sh.10,900 and those handling physical challenged students get extra allowances. Teachers are given allowances including house allowance and commuter allowance. On the other hand teachers are paid in accordance to years of experience.

A secondary school teacher who has a less than two years experience makes approximately Sh.73,200 per month. Those with an experience level between two and five years are expected to earn sh.94,100 per month, 29% more than someone with less than two years experience. One with an experience of 5-10 years receives a salary of Sh 130,000 per month which is 38%mire than one with 2-5 years of experience.

The one with between ten and fifteen years get a salary equivalent to sh.161,000 per month, 24% more than someone with five to ten years of experience. If experience level is between 15-20 years expected wage is Sh 172,000 per month, 7% more than one with 10-15 years of experience. Employees with more than twenty years of professional experience get a salary of sh.184,000 per month, 7% more than people with fifteen to twenty years of experience.
