Oparanya's leadership skills could be attributed to his degree in Commerce from the University of Nairobi which may be a key ingredient to management of public funds.
His son Ian Oparanya has followed his father's footsteps and has already acquired a First Class Honors in BSc Economics from University of Bradford in England. He announced this milestone upon graduating last year from the institution.
"I’m a happy man today because God my Heavenly Father has blessed the work of my hand...I have made my Dad Wycliffe Oparanya and My Mum Tabitha Ambetsa proud parents...I have made my family and friends proud...there are people out here on facebook who believe in me more than I even believe in myself thank you so much for your motivating comments and once again Thank you God for this first class honours,"he posted.
