Education Cabinet Secretary Professor George Magoha's has been under pressure since the sudden shutdown of schools as a result due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic. This is because the CS has engaged in series of activities to ensure that schools resume safely.
In a latest report the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural organization (UNESCO) body whose headquarters are based in France has sent a warning to the Education stakeholders in the country.
In the report it has established that Kenya and other middle income countries have been warned from cutting education budgets as a result of the tough times imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
According to UNESCO cutting budgets meant for education as a result of reduced earnings in the Government will have serious effects to children and so college students.
In a report by UNESCO it urges countries like Kenya that the funding into the education sector in the country must be maintained or be increased so as to minimize disruptions.
The global body further reveals that the governments are supposed to direct most of their education funds to the most marginalized regions and schools.
