Dagoretti High school is a provincial boys' school situated along the Nairobi-Kikuyu Road, 16 kilometers from the heart of Nairobi. A little more than 900 students attend this residential school.
An eyewitness, who requested anonymity for security reasons, claimed that the altercation began when one student referred to another Muslim as a terrorist.
According to the police, the unrest began on Sunday night following a football march and grew overnight, necessitating their intervention so as to curb further tension.
The school has invited the board of management to discuss the next steps.
Meanwhile, Kenyans should maintain calm as the situation is contained, by the police posted to the school.
