How Governor Lenku's Ksh. 50Million Bursaries Kitty is Changing Kajiado East

Today was the turn for Kajiado East to benefit from the County Government of Kajiado bursary and scholarships scheme.

This term, the County Government is disbursing Sh 50 Million as part of the annual Sh 150 Million budget this year.

This amount was Sh 40 Million in 2017, an amount that Governor Joseph Ole Lenku's administration has raised to Sh 150 Million a year.

The number of beneficiaries has risen from 3,000 in 2017 to more than 10,000 this year.

This afternoon, Governor Lenku has disbursed the bursaries and scholarships for Kitengela, Oloosirkon/ Sholinke and Kaputie North Wards in Kitengela Town.

The Governor has warned beneficiaries against indiscipline in school saying those who will be caught with cases of indiscipline will have their bursaries given to those more serious with education.

The event was attended by area MCAs Joshua Oluwuasa ( Kaputiei North), Francis Kaesha ( Oloosirkon Sholinke) with Kitengela's Paul Matuyia sending apologies as he is away.

Others who attended are headteachers from both Primary and secondary schools as well as representatives of the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT).
