Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has launched an official probe against Moi University following revelation of ghost workers and cases of embezzlement of funds. According to Nation Media, EACC has sent an official notice to the institution enquiring a list of all the names of teaching and non- teaching staff in the institution.
Moi University is one of the biggest universities in Kenya, despite being one of the well performing institutions of higher learning in the country, the varsity has been on the limelight for several infamous issues. In a letter written to the institution's Vice Chancellor Prof. Isaac Kosgei, EACC now demands original copies of names of workers since 2018.
The university's administration is yet to his to the demands by EACC despite the case being in public domain.
It is reported that there has been several cases of mismanagement of funds in the institution that has prompted EACC to quickly come into intervention before things get out of hand.
