Tough times awaits our Kenyan universities as Education CS Ezekiel Machogu say it's time for universities to also explore other project financing method such public private partnerships to support some of their needs. He also said the alumni base is one important sole that will be able to generate funds for the university. Machogu said universities need to think about innovative resource mobilization that will foster funds to the universities. He said by doing so the universities will able to run it's activities without much difficulties and produce conducive environment for learners to pursue their careers.
This will be a big challenge to many universities and other learning institutions. Majority of our learning institutions and universities have been depending on the Government for funding and running of their activities thus surviving on their own will be very difficult. Many universities doesn't have active fund generating projects that can sustain them during the entire academic year and also the alumni base is inactive in majority of our universities.
