Primary Education

Teachers Angered by the Teachers Service Commission Following its Recent Development.

The teacher's service commission is a constitutional body mandated to hire, promote and discipline teachers in the county. They also maintain a high level of professionalism among the tutors while supervising the quality of education offered in schools.

Teachers have expressed their disappointment with the TSC after it rolled out the virtual learning program where 163,000 have teachers trained.

According to the Kenya union of post-primary education, the move might replace the teachers since one teacher using the virtual teaching method is required to teach several schools.

The teacher's service commission chief executive officer Dr. Nancy Njeri Macharia said that the program will help in curbing the teacher's shortage in public schools in the country.

This is coming amid having thousands of unemployed teachers in the country who are struggling to secure jobs in both private primary and secondary schools in the country.

The union further says that the program might be expensive and demanding in terms of resources. I
