The deputy president, William Ruto, is currently at Mukurweini constituency in Nyeri county for the burial of Richard Kagucia, father to Nyeri county speaker John Kagucia. The DP arrived for this ceremony on Wednesday morning where he made an impromptu visit to a nearby Thangathi primary school.
Here Ruto was received by the Mukurweini central ward MCA, Gatheru. The second in command went ahead and shared a word of encouragement to the pupils who were attending the normal parade session.
After his insightful speech, Ruto went ahead to gift the primary school with some Ksh 500,000 for lunch and infrastructure. The neighbouring Thangathi secondary school was also gifted with Ksh 100,000 for lunch.
The area MCA took to his social media handles to show his gratitude and appreciation. Gatheru also expressed his happiness for welcoming the second in command despite him being just an ordinary MCA.
Ruto is known to give out money whenever he makes a visit to various corners of the country. Some of his critics have been questioning the source of his money.
William Ruto is also accompanied by various leaders at this funeral. Among those present is the Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua.
