Top 10 Kenyans Who Grew From Extremely Humble Backgrounds And What You Can Learn From Them

Mca tricky used to be a street boy within the streets of Nairobi. Having been born in Makueni he has grown to be one of the most admired comedians in the country. He also graduated from Kenyatta University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering.

3. Churchill

Churchill whose real name is Daniel Ndambuki is one of the most admired comedians in the country. He is also the founder of The Kenya Laugh Industry. Churchill was born in Machakos county and from a very humble background until he fought his was up to stardom.

4. Larry Madowo

Larry Madowo is one of the most prominent personalities in Kenya. Having been born in siaya county Barding village. At age 14 he lost his parents, having learnt through struggle he joined the media fraternity until he recently joined the BBC Africa.

5. Maina Kageni

Maina Kageni is one of the most successful radio hosts in the country but what many people don't know that his way up has not been that easy. He worked as a truck driver in the United Kingdom and currently enjoying a successful career in the media.

6. Babu Owino

Babu Owino is the current member of parliament for Embakasi East and like any other normal person, he had no economic advantage in any way. Being a bright student he was among the best student of his times when it came to Kcpe and KCSE and that opened doors for him. He joined the University of Nairobi and there became the SONU chairman after which he ventured into politics.

7. Jalangó

The famous Jalang'o grew up in Homabay county from a humble background. His parents were just but small scale farmers. Like any other normal person, he fought his was up and his talent gave him a platform. He is one of the most highly paid comedian and radio hosts in the country.

8. Jaguar

Charles Njagua is the current MP for starehe. He was born in a very humble family. He talent in music is what opened doors for him in many ways until he finally became an MP. At a young age, he lost his mother who was everything to him. He looked for jobs so as to get schools fees to continue with his education. He once worked as a tout.

9. Mike Sonko

Mike Sonko like any other Kenyan was from a humble family and became the governor of Nairobi. He attended Kikowani primary school and later found himself in Kwale highschool for his secondary education.

10. Victor Wanyama

Wanyama is one of the most prominent persons not only in Kenya but in the world. Having played for Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL, his fame grew and was warning up-to 30 million. What many people don't know about Wanyama is that he grew from the the slums of Muthurwa in Nairobi.
