Today, the people of Kenya have been handed some bad news. This came in after reports emerged that the price of Unga is now set to increase for the first time after Ruto took over the Presidency from Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta.
As reported by some sources, the millers in the country have announced that in the next few days, the people of Kenya will be spending more money to purchase Unga. According to these producers, the prices will go up because the goverment stopped subsidizing unga. This had even made some millers to stop production while others are scaling down. The remaining few are now considering to increase the prices.
"The millers who supplied affordable unga under the subsidy programme in retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s government have now lamented about delayed payment. The companies are now saying Kenyans should be prepared to buy the commodity at a higher price as they plan to begin their operation." Said the reports.
