Kenyans do not seem to understand what is causing the recent rise in price of different brands of bread with some urging the government to intervene before things get out of hand.
The cost of bread has gone up by 5 shillings in an attempt by bakers to pass on additional production costs incurred due to the changing prices of wheat.
Wheat is the raw material used when baking bread. This situation comes at a time when most households in the country are struggling to acquire basic needs such as food, clothing and shelter.
The increase in cost of petroleum products has led to an increase in price of common household commodities such as milk leaving Kenyans wondering what the government is doing to handle the worrying rate of rising inflation.
