Safaricom customers will be pleased to learn that the following charges have been reduced by nearly half. Following negotiations with lenders and mobile payment firms, the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) announced two weeks ago the reintroduction of charges for transactions between mobile money wallets and bank accounts. The charges were waived by the Central Bank of Kenya in March 2020 as part of measures put in place to facilitate the use of mobile money in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
As a result, Safaricom has announced that, beginning in January 2023, playbill charges will be cut in half. Safaricom customers who pay playbill charges ranging from Kshs 100 to Kshs 500 will now be charged Shs 4, down from Shs 23 in the new system.
The move will help more Kenyans ahead of January by helping those with small businesses grow the economy of the country. What is your opinion concerning this message? For more details and to get updated countrywide, don't forget to follow the channel.
