On Friday, the President who was accompanied by the deputy President Rigathi Gachagua toured the County of Mombasa for the official launching ceremony of the Taifa Gas project at Dongo Kundu. The project launching will see the residents of Mombasa benefit from cheaper energy for domestic use.
The Taifa LPG Gas terminal is one of the largest suppliers of LPG Gas in Tanzania with a capacity of 30,000 tons of LPG and owned by a Tanzanian Business Mogul called Rostam Aziz and has officially entered the Kenyan Market.
While speaking to the residents of Mombasa during the launch, the President assured Kenyans that he will make sure that all those people selling gas illegally are dealt with and illegal filling stations are eliminated. The President commissioned the Minister for Internal Security and the Minister for National Government to work together with the Minister for energy to ensure that illegal vendors are dealt with.
While thanking the leaders who attended the launching, the President caused the residents of Mombasa to laugh after claiming that it appeared like Likoni MP Mbishi Mboko and the Deputy President are speaking the same language. The statement was rather very sarcastic bearing in mind that Mishi Mboko is known as a strong critic of the President and his deputy being a member of Azimio coalition.
The whole audience was in laughter after the President asked whether the two of them had met and discussed what to say before the official launch. ''Nimeona hapa ni kama RiggyG wanaongea lugha moja na Mbishi Mboko, Sijui Mlikutana wapi mkasema hii maneno pamoja.''
