Kisii County CEC Presents New Budget To The County Building

Kisii County CEC for Finance Moses Onderi presented the budget statement for the Financial year 2021-2022, before the Kisii County Assembly.

The County Assembly unanimously endorsed the Ksh. 12.5 billion budget for the financial year.

Health Services, Roads and Public Works departments got a lion share of Ksh. 4.7 and Ksh. 1.2 billion respectively, county assembly 1.05 billion, education and manpower development 766 million, administration and stakeholder management Ksh. 600 millions among other departmental allocations.

To fund the budget, themed 'Budget for Economic Recovery and Resillience,' Onderi highlighted that the County Government will receive a total of KShs. 8.9 billion as equitable share, KShs 700 million from Own Source Revenue, Ksh. 5.75 million as conditional loans and grants from development partners, and Ksh.153 million as conditional allocation from the national government.

Onderi thanked the county assembly for unanimously endorsing budget estimates for the fiscal year 2021/22.

The estimates themed ' Budget for Economic recovery and Resillience' has prioritised Health services, Roads and Urban Infrastructure Development, water reticulation and environment conservation, food production and Skills and Sports Development.

He reiterated the commitment by the county executive will remain focused in sustaining this 12.5 billion budget.
