Nairobi Expressway is set to a complete game changer of the current congestion of Nairobi Central Business District (CBD). The highway which is the first one of its kind to be ever constructed within the Kenya's capital city, is going to have several features that will help to reduce the congestion being witnessed inside the city.
According the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), the Nairobi residents will go to 2022 with a completely different city skyline. The project which is set to cost the Kenyan taxpayers a whooping Sh62 billion, is not only going to revolutionize transport within the city by easing traffic, but it will also have another very important feature of a car parking space.
This is the unique feature which is also the first one to be constructed within Nairobi City. Car parking space has been a huge problem to Nairobians especially those ones who work inside the Nairobi Central Business District (CBD). Most of them who work from near highway will now get a car parking space for their vehicles. According to the Standard, the Transport CS James Macharia said the expressway will also contain the parking space below it that will reduce private vehicles congestion within the CBD.
