Meet The Chief Executive Officer Of Netflix, Reed Hastings

Wilmer Reed Hastings Junior is a businessman born on October 8, 1960 in America. Hastings is the co-founder and chief executive officer of Netflix. He has also sat on several boards and nonprofitable organizations.

With the help of Marc Randolph, a former Pure Software employee, they co-founded Netflix which offered flat rate movies by combining DVDs and a website for customers to order the movies from. The headquarters of Netflix are in Los Gatos, California. Netflix has a collection of 100,000,000 subscribers and titles worth 100,000. Hastings came up with the Netflix idea after leaving Pure Software. At this time he was not sure if the service would be used.

An internal culture guide for Netflix was created by Hastings through meeting his employees and discussing the company's culture and theories that the employees thought about the company.

Since June 2011, Hastings was the director of Facebook. At September 2016, he had more than US 10 million dollars worth from Facebook shares and as of May 2019 he was to leave the board. Hastings wrote a Wall Street Journal advocating the expensing of stock options in April 2004.
